Senator Ademola Adeleke, representing Osun West Senatorial District
in the National Assembly on Saturday, won the governorship primary
election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), held in Osogbo, the
state capital.
He polled 1, 569 votes to defeat Dr Akin Ogunbiyi, who trailed him with 1, 562 votes.

Akinbade garnered 56 votes, while Chief Nathaniel Oke (SAN) recorded
only three votes
Announcing the results around 11. 15 pm, the Bayelsa State governor,
Hon Seriake Dickson, who also doubles as the chairman, electoral
committee, delegated by the national leadership of the main opposition
party, said, having scored the majority votes, Senator Ademola Adeleke
is hereby declared the winner of the primary election and returned as
candidate of our party.
